Job Description Summary: This is a 12 month, 100%, Classified Position
Under the direction of an administrator, create, develop, and implement services offered by the Multicultural Student Center (MSC); collaborate and work with constituent groups and individuals to develop, promote, and implement the MSC's goals, objectives, policies and procedures; coordinate and assist with the preparation of proposals, plans, and applications for funding of the MSC's programs; support and advance a District-wide culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion amongst the student body with a focus on disproportionately impacted (DI) populations, particularly African American, Latinx, and first generation college students; coordinate day-to-day operations of the facility, and foster a welcoming environment for students and visitors to the MSC; support the supervising administrator's goals and objectives for the Center and work in collaboration with the MSC's advisory board as directed; perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Duties: ESSENTIAL DUTIES
1. Under direction, coordinate, plan, and organize the development and implementation of the Center’s goals, objectives and priorities; identify resource needs for DI students; recommend and implement policies and procedures;
2. Create, develop, administer and implement support services for the Center; collaborate and coordinate with similar services at the district to offer wrap-around services for DI populations;
3. Coordinate and plan the day-to-day operations of the Center including facilitating activities with students;
4. Organize and promote educational opportunities, mentorships, tutoring, social interactions, health, wellness, and cultural events for DI students and connect students with campus resources;
5. Collaborate with a team of student support services professionals to implement and promote the overall mission of the Center;
6. Advocate for the needs of DI and undocumented students including identifying resources and referring to other support groups on and off campus;
7. Provide technical information and assistance to administrators regarding assigned functions; assist in the formulation and development of goals, policies, procedures, and programs; identify resources and needs and provide recommendations to administrators;
8. Prepare and maintain a variety of narrative and statistical reports as necessary;
9. Communicate with other administrators, personnel and outside organizations to coordinate activities and programs, resolve issues and conflicts and exchange information; provide coaching, mediation, and intervention services for students in conflict as necessary;
10. Participate in the development of the annual budget; analyze and review budgetary and financial data; control and authorize expenditures in accordance with established limitations;
11. Operate a computer and assigned software programs; operate other office equipment as assigned;
12. Supervise and train students as needed;
13. Attend and conduct a variety of meetings as assigned;
14. Demonstrate sensitivity to and respect for diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability and ethnic backgrounds of the College’s students, faculty, staff, and community.
15. Effectively engage and support historically disproportionately impacted groups by addressing issues of equity and improving culturally responsive service-oriented practices.
16. Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Any combination equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in a field related to student services; and one-year experience with increasingly responsible experience in student services, counseling, behavioral science or student affairs.
Must have evidence of responsiveness to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students and employees, as these factors relate to the need for equity-minded practices.
Preferred Qualifications: OTHER QUALIFICATION
Must possess a valid, Class “C” California Drivers’ License.
CSEA Salary Schedule Range # 42$67,164$74,088$85,764
Transcripts issued outside the United States require a course-by-course analysis with an equivalency statement from a certified transcript evaluation service verifying the degree equivalency to that of an accredited institution within the USA.
