The Student Affairs Specialist reports to the Manager of Career Services and has primary responsibility for the administration of career advising for students and employer relations. Under the direction of the Manager, this position will develop, implement, and evaluate programs designed to improve student success and satisfaction, and build a strong sense of community.

  • Works in conjunction with the Student Affairs national team, campus and online colleagues to develop relationships in an effort to lead effective career programming, employer relations and student development resources.
  • Develops training and resources to support Federal Work Study (FWS) staff and manage daily activity.
  • Provides information and serve as resource for all communications related to career services.
  • Advises students on career development, job search skills and industry trends in preparation for employment upon graduation through group and individual advising.
  • Stay current on all local, state and federal policies that affect career services policy including Title IV regulations and guidelines from accrediting and regulatory bodies.
  • Actively participates in appropriate associations, committees and activities as well as attends conferences related to career services.
  • Assist with employer relations process by managing employer events and incoming employer requests through CRM systems and posting positions on Chamberlain University job site.
  • Participate in employer relations strategies and outreach efforts.
  • Act as a liaison with administrators. Participate in meetings and seminars related to student affairs matters.
  • Ensure students feel connected by encouraging student engagement including student initiated projects and community service programs.
  • Participate in committees related to student affairs.

This position is a designated Campus Security Authority.

Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) in higher education administration, college student development, counseling, or related field. Desirable experiences include:
  • 5+ years in Student Affairs, Career Services preferred.
  • One year experience in the Healthcare Industry.
  • Knowledge of the principles, practices, methodology and procedures for the provision of career services.
  • Strong PC skills, CRM systems preferred.
  • Must have strong analytical and organizational skills as well as the ability to work collaboratively and effectively in a matrix organization.
  • Excellent customer service and oral and written communication skills
  • Leadership and management skills preferred.
