The University of Puget Sound seeks a culturally-competent, well-traveled, and adaptable candidate for the position of Faculty-Led Study Abroad Program Coordinator to assist in the planning and execution of faculty-led study abroad programs. This position works in collaboration with the Office of International Programs and the Pacific Rim Study Abroad Program (PacRim). This is an 18-month, full-time, non-exempt position. The person in this role would be welcome to apply for the PacRim Administrative Manager position, which supports the PacRim program during the semester-long travel component in Asia.

Primary Responsibilities:

The Coordinator will work with the Office of International Programs on promoting and administering Puget Sound faculty-led study abroad programs. They will also work with the PacRim Faculty Director to plan and administer the Pacific Rim Study Abroad Program, including coordinating and assisting with the pre-departure course and pre-departure activities during fall semesters.

Additional Responsibilities

• Works with the Office of International Programs to coordinate and support faculty-led study abroad programs
• Researches and cultivates relations with partner institutions abroad
• Coordinates Office of International Programs marketing and social media
• Assists and coordinates logistical planning for the PacRim Program
• Researches health and safety resources abroad and makes recommendations for the PacRim Program
• Becomes familiar with PacRim financial management systems and works with campus offices to maintain, coordinate, and track PacRim finances
• Participates in planning for future PacRim programs

Additional responsibilities with the Office of International Programs and the PacRim Program, as necessary

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree
• Previous travel or living experience abroad
• Flexibility, positive attitude, and the ability to adapt to unique situations with resourcefulness and persistence
• Organizational and record-keeping skills; problem-solving ability; ability to maintain confidentiality; and exceptional ability to work under pressure in stressful conditions
• Ability to respectfully work, communicate and provide leadership within a diverse campus community.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with accounting, budgeting, and working with spreadsheets or an equivalent.
• Familiarity with Asia and Asian languages is preferred.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective relations with a diverse group of individuals
• Ability to make sound judgments regarding health and safety
• Preference will be given to candidates with a background in managing, facilitating, and traveling with groups of long-term travel programs.
• Previous experience working and/or leading study abroad programs

Compensation and Benefits: The starting range for this position is $20.00 per hour ($41,600 annualized) and final decisions about starting salaries are made based on the extent and relatedness of the candidate's education and experience and on internal equity and market considerations.
