Associated Recreation Council (ARC), in partnership with Seattle Parks and Recreation, is recruiting for a Piano Instructor for the Van Asselt Community Center. Do you have a passion for Piano? The Piano Instructor is responsible for teaching weekly 30-minute private lessons to beginner, intermediate level to students from age 8 through adult. Instruction includes sight-reading, technique, expression, theory, and chords. Advance level teaching would be a bonus.

LOCATION: Van Asselt Community Center, 2820 S Myrtle St, Seattle, WA 98108

PAY RANGE: $31-31.50 hourly DOE for part-time, non-exempt position

SCHEDULE: Monday through Friday see schedule below
  • Monday - 4/4-6/27 from 3:00pm - 8:00pm
  • Tuesdays - 4/5- 6/28 from 3:00pm - 8:00pm
  • Wednesday - 4/6-6/29 from 3:00pm - 8:00pm
  • Thursday - 4/7- 6/30 from 3:00pm - 8:00pm
  • Friday - 4/1-6/24 from 3:00pm - 8:00pm

START DATE: Friday, April 1, 2022 - June 30, 2022 and then for the remainder of the year

END DATE: On going

REQUIREMENTS
  • Over 21 years of age
  • Willing to work 1-2 days a week and teach 30-minute lessons 3-5 hours per day
  • Must have experience teaching beginner and intermediate level piano lessons to various age groups
  • Previous experience creating curriculum and developing piano lesson plans is preferred.
  • If hired, must have First Aid/CPR certification, or willingness to attain
  • If hired, must pass criminal background check, provide proof of eligibility to work in the US and valid photo ID
  • If hired, must sign up for direct deposit with either checking or savings account
