*Position Summary*
SDSU Global Campus strives to be a global leader in providing education programs that transform lives locally and internationally. Our mission is to deliver innovative educational experiences to all learners through credit and non-credit academic and special programs for individuals and groups at various times, in myriad locations, and via different modalities throughout the year.
Within Global Campus, the Director is responsible for establishing, communicating and maintaining student support services; student advising and student advocacy; orientation, and retention efforts; facilitating student leadership development and co-curricular involvement. In the delivery of these responsibilities, this role will work closely with a number of campus departments and programs including, though not limited to, Faculty Advancement and Student Success, Enrollment Services, New Student and Parent Programs, Career Services, Student Rights and Responsibilities, Counseling and Psychological Services, the Student Ability Success Center, and others.

This is a full-time (1.0 time-base), benefits eligible, permanent/probationary position. This position is designated exempt under FLSA and is not eligible for overtime compensation. Standard SDSU work hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., but may vary based on operational needs.
The individual hired into this role will work on campus at SDSU in San Diego.
*Education and Experience*
Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university in a related field plus upper division or graduate coursework in counseling techniques, interviewing and conflict resolution where such are job related.
Possession of the required knowledge and abilities is typically demonstrated through the equivalent to four years of progressively responsible professional student services work experience which includes experience in advising students individually and in groups, and in analysis and resolution of complex student services problems.
A master’s degree in Counseling, Clinical Psychology, Social Work or a job-related field may be substituted for one year of professional experience. A doctorate degree and the appropriate internship or clinical training in counseling, guidance or a job-related field may be substituted for two years of the required professional experience for positions with a major responsibility for professional, personal or career counseling.

Comfort and proficiency with public speaking and presentations.
* Ability to honor confidentiality and handle confidential/sensitive matters with discretion and tact
*Preferred Qualifications*

* 5+ years of direct personnel management experience in a higher education environment
* 5+ years of proven successful leadership in enrollment management and/or student support services; online learning and/or adult education environment
* Proven leadership in developing high-performing work teams, including experience with dispersed work teams and developing/implementing performance standards and assessment methods
* A holistic view of the connections among the areas of enrollment, academic programs, technology, and co-curricular student engagement; the capacity to build strong and supportive relationships across them and to work effectively with all who have an interest in the success of SDSU Global Campus student bodies
* 4 years of progressively responsible professional student services work experience; which includes:
* Experience in advising students individually and in groups
* Analysis and resolution of complex student services problems (A master’s degree in student affairs, counseling, clinical psychology, social work or a job-related field may be substituted for one year of professional experience. A doctorate degree and the appropriate internship or clinical training in counseling, guidance or a job-related field may be substituted for two years of the required professional experience)

*Compensation and Benefits*
*Starting salary upon appointment is not expected to exceed $6,667 per month. *
Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department’s fiscal resources.

CSU Classification Salary Range: $5,732 - $8,176 per month.
*SDSU Vaccine Policy*
In accordance with the California State University systemwide policy, students, faculty, and staff must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or provide a valid medical or religious exemption in order to access campus. An individual is considered fully vaccinated two weeks after their second dose of a two-shot vaccine or two weeks after the first dose of a single-shot vaccine. Afterward a COVID-19 booster is required to continue to be considered fully vaccinated.
The individual hired into this role will be required to submit their completed vaccination documentation to the university’s secure online health portal prior to beginning work. Individuals with an approved medical or religious exemption on file with the university will be required to participate in SDSU’s COVID-19 testing program.
