Director of Lower School Admissions

Brimmer and May, a PK-12 all gender day school of 420 students in Chestnut Hill, MA is seeking a Director of Lower School Admissions to start July 1, 2023. The position reports to the Director of Enrollment and is an invaluable member of a six-person admissions team. The Director, in close consultation with the Director of Enrollment, will develop, guide, and oversee all facets of the Lower School admissions process to attract, enroll, and retain the best possible students. Desirable candidates will embrace the mission of Brimmer and May School, have exceptional organization and time-management skills, be creative, and possess strong analytical, writing, and communication skills. The ideal candidate will also be comfortable with a variety of technology platforms including social media channels and databases and enjoy a fast-paced and team-oriented work environment.

Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

-Planning, organization, and execution of recruitment and retention events both on and off campus.
-Represent the School at off-campus events including evening and weekend fairs and receptions and local/regional consortium gatherings and conferences.
-Cultivate relationships with area preschools, feeder programs, and educational consultants.
-Maintain knowledge of Lower School programs, curriculum changes, and daily practices.
-Develop relationships and provide admissions trainings for Lower School teachers, attend faculty meetings, and present as needed.
-Conduct an average of ten tours and interviews per week during peak admissions season. -Evaluate applicant files, oversee Admissions readers, and facilitate Admissions Committee meetings.
-Recruit, train, and oversee parent ambassadors
-Assist with special projects related to admissions marketing and communications and DEI efforts.

-Adherence to all personnel policies, procedures, and rules contained in the Brimmer and May Faculty and Staff Handbooks.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree required and master's preferred. Three to five years of experience in independent school or preschool Admissions required. Background and/or training in DEI related topics a plus. Sense of humor, passion for working with young people, understanding of early childhood education trends, familiarity with the growth and learning development of elementary school students, commitment to independent school education, and desire to work as part of a team are essential.
