Job Description:
The Social Media Officer, Fulbright manages all aspects of social media and related external communications for the Fulbright Program, the flagship international exchange program sponsored by the U.S. government.
This role creates content and graphics for the Fulbright Program’s social media presence and manages analytics and reporting on all social media platforms. This role contributes to content creation for channels such as newsletters, blogs, email campaigns, multimedia, and websites. In close collaboration with the Fulbright Communications Specialist and Assistant Director for Fulbright Communications, this role supports the program’s print and digital communication needs to maintain Fulbright’s brand identity.
Essential Functions:
Develops and curates social media content across platforms. Manages dynamic communities through social media presence and engagement. Creates and implements social media strategies; monitors metrics and analytics, to include social listening.
Develops customized social media, graphics, and toolkits as needed. Develops template social media content for program stakeholders and partners to adapt and share. Serves as a technical resource on social media content and platforms.
Provide support to video filming, photography and editing projects.
Source and edit image assets for digital and print use and provide support to the Fulbright digital asset team.
Ensure correct brand usage on all materials
Support procurement, coordination, and payments to creative vendors
Interacts with external stakeholders, including the program sponsor, the higher education community, and other external constituencies, vendors, consultants, and contractors to professionally represent the program(s) and IIE. Liaises with the general public and pre-applicants via a variety of social media platforms.
Gathers and reports information on program participant and alumni activities to demonstrate program impact. Supports the implementation of the communication strategy to engage these audiences. Solicits and edits and/or drafts blog content and contributes content to program web platforms.
The Institute of International Education (“IIE”) has a hybrid work environment that allows team members a combination of in-office work and telework at any of the locations listed above.
Job Requirements:
Education and Work Experience:
Requires a Bachelor's degree and at least 2 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Applicants are required to include a PDF portfolio or web link showcasing their social media/communications work to be considered for this role.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Experience with a social media scheduling system required.
Prior experience with successfully managing social media campaigns and strategies is highly desired.
Experience editing and maintaining dynamic website content preferred.
Experience using and curating content in a digital asset management system is highly desired.
Experience working with international communities is preferred.
Knowledge of and experience with the higher education sector preferred.
Some graphic design and video editing skills preferred.
Ability to organize and handle a large volume of work under severe time constraints and pressures.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, public speaking, and presentation skills.
Superior writing and editing skills highly preferred.
Proficiency with MS Office applications including Word, Excel and Outlook.
Salary Range: $60,547 - $70,386. A candidate’s salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, job-related knowledge, skills, abilities, internal organizational equity, and geographic region.
