The University of Illinois Chicago’s Study Abroad Office (SAO) is hiring for an Assistant Director. This position administers and implements study abroad exchange, partnership, and direct enroll programs in a regional advising portfolio for UIC students. Additionally, this position serves as a liaison for a portfolio of UIC colleges/departments to assist with the expansion of faculty-directed study abroad programs, overseeing all program development and coordination for programs in their portfolio. Furthermore, the Assistant Director serves as departmental point person for developing the SAO's marketing/outreach strategy.

UIC is Chicago’s largest university and its only public Carnegie Research 1 institution. The institution is among the top five most diverse campuses in the nation and a national leader among urban, public higher education institutions in providing access to underrepresented students. This drives the mission of the Study Abroad Office, where our current focus is on expanding access to study abroad for UIC’s diverse student body. Given our current goals of increasing access for diverse students and growing our faculty-directed program offerings, we seek an experienced study abroad professional with demonstrated success in supporting underrepresented students and collaborating with university faculty members and other stakeholders to develop new study abroad programs.
