Who we are:

UMFS' Charterhouse School is a place where Virginia's kids with special needs can get out of their comfort zone and start to get out into the world. Our job is to show them a more effective and productive way. Our elementary, middle and high school students benefit from a proven curriculum of academic and social skills instruction. As a result, our fully accredited school has a proud history of helping students reach graduation or their goals of returning to public schools.

Who we serve:

Our population is comprised of children from ages 6 to 22, with autism and other neurological differences, emotional, learning, developmental, and intellectual disabilities, as well as other impairments. 8:1 ratios for student to Teachers/Support Staff.

What we are looking for:

An Admissions Coordinator to asses incoming students and determine if Charterhouse School can meet the student's educational and related services' needs. Responsible for meeting with and interviewing referred students and their parent(s)/guardian(s) and coordinating the admissions process. Provide transition planning for students in collaboration with the student, parent(s)/guardian(s), LEAs, the treatment teams and other UMFS service personnel. Participate in community outreach and representing the school through work with the UMFS marketing team.

What you will need:

Undergraduate degree in special education or related field. Must have a minimum of two years of successful experience in special education or relevant field such as social work, counseling, or residential treatment.

Professional License with an endorsement in education with experience in two or more disabilities preferred.
