The International Admissions and Student Support Specialist supports multiple aspects of international student admissions and services in collaboration with the other International Education team members. This position is responsible for providing excellent international student admission services, student support and assistance as well as study abroad support as part of the International Education team. This position will serve as a Designated School Official (DSO).

Position Accountabilities:
  • Provide quality international student admission services through completion of timely and accurate international transcript evaluations, I-20 creation, and ensure efficient overall admission processes and procedures.
  • Serve as primary point of contact for approval of international graduate admits in coordination with applicable graduate programs.
  • Communicate with prospective international students regarding their admission process and documents in collaboration with International Admissions Coordinator and Graduate Assistant.
  • Serve as primary point of contact for Registrar in the confirmation of official international transcripts.
  • In coordination with Associate Director of International Education, ensure proper and timely reporting to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security by maintaining student records in SEVIS to ensure Park University's international F-1 nonimmigrant students are in lawful status.
  • Provide F-1 international student visa advising support to current international students in coordination with Associate Director.
  • Assist with proper and timely advising to international students regarding Optional Practical Training and Curricular Practical Training in coordination with Associate Director of International Education
  • Assist in Park University's international-related programming and activities in collaboration with Associate Director and Graduate Assistant. Align programming efforts with the objectives of Park's Core Values. Current programming priorities include International Education Week, International Student Check-in Sessions, International Student Orientation and International Sash Ceremony.
  • Assist as needed with international student recruitment and marketing in collaboration with Senior Director including virtual and in person international student fairs, university partnership visits, virtual marketing and collaboration with EducationUSA.
  • Assist with study abroad programming, promotion, orientation and execution as needed.

Position Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 1-2 years of experience working a field related to International Education.
  • Extensive experience working with students, faculty, and staff from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
  • Possess strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Possess strong interpersonal communication skills, passion for international education, cross-cultural sensitivity, and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Experience working with information systems and record keeping technologies.
  • Willingness and ability to work evening and weekend hours, as needed.
  • Knowledge of other languages preferred.

Physical Requirements
  • Physical ability to operate computer, software, and telephone as needed.
  • Ability to navigate facilities with no elevators, as needed to meet with faculty, staff, and/or students.
  • Ability to lift or move equipment/materials weighing up to 40 pounds, with or without accommodation.
  • Ability to work for extended periods outdoors or at a computer workstation, office chair, etc.
  • Ability and willingness to pick up and deliver materials around campus.
