Position Summary
Responsible for directing the support and advising of undergraduates, masters, doctoral students in their personal, academic, and professional development. Together with faculty and other partners within the School of Global Public Health (GPH), NYU, the GNU, and the community, the Assistant/Associate Dean of Student Affairs will work to engage students in the activities of SGPH that fosters their intellectual and professional development. Specifically, the Assistant/Associate Dean supervises student academic advising, student life, professional and career development, new student orientation, student policies and procedures, risk management for student safety and well-being; contributes to the development of academic program development for undergraduate programs; is a member of the leadership team of the GPH and serves on projects at the request of the Dean. The incumbent will oversee student affairs infrastructure and establish short and long-term goals and provide formative and summative assessment
Qualifications
Required Education:Master's Degree Higher Education, Public Health, Social Work, Counseling or related field.Preferred Education:Doctoral Degree Higher Education, Public Health, or related fieldRequired Experience:10+ years Progressively responsible experience developing and managing implementation of student services to a diverse student body at the college or university level, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must include experience with student services, budget administration and staff management.Preferred Experience:Familiarity with field of public health and health services, particularly in regards to career counseling and the current job marketRequired Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:Exceptional planning, interpersonal, problem-solving and communication (both verbal and written) skills. Ability to execute multiple initiatives simultaneously, promote teamwork.
Additional Information
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $125,000.00 to USD $175,000.00.
