The Admissions Coordinator, Underrepresented Populations (ACUP) supports the mission of the University by meeting new student recruitment goals through relationship development with students, parents, high school counselors and other stakeholders during on-campus recruitment events, virtual recruitment events, and off-campus recruitment events such as high school visits, college fairs, and receptions in recruitment markets with identified underserved student populations. The ACUP conducts interviews and group programs to counsel prospective students and their parents about Pitt-Johnstown in particular, and the University of Pittsburgh in general, including academic programs, admissions processes, college selection, career options, and financial aid. A successful ACUP will possess strong interpersonal and communications skills including public speaking and acumen with all modern/relevant business communication platforms as well as a demonstrated commitment to supporting an environment of equity, diversion, and inclusion. The ACUP will assist with the development and execution of territory specific and comprehensive recruitment outreach efforts serving underrepresented student populations. The ACUP also serves as a member of the Admission Committee, reviewing applications for admissions, and making first action recommendations on applicants from their respective territory of responsibility. Spanish language fluency/proficiency are strongly preferred. Extensive overnight travel and occasional weekend/evening work are required.

Qualifications :

Excellent verbal skills, as applied in both interpersonal and group settings, are essential. Outstanding writing skills are critical. Basic computing skills should include proficient word-processing ability, a familiarity with web-based communications and an understanding of database processes; must be willing to add web content management skills as needed. Must be energetic, and able and willing to travel. Must have a valid drivers license.
