Summary of Job Duties:

The Director of Graduate and International Admissions leads a diverse team employing various admissions strategies with the goal of expeditiously enrolling a highly qualified and diverse graduate and international student body. The Director is responsible for the customer relationship management software and technology tools that house the graduate and international application and actively participates in the strategic use and design of these tools and the application management process. This position builds and maintains collaborative relationships with both campus and external constituents and stakeholders. The position also advises and contributes to the Graduate School and International Education's international activities with a view to strengthening the University's general profile, partnerships, and international dual degree programs. The Director manages a committed staff and oversees planning, budgeting, and operational line responsibility.

The position dually reports to the Associate Dean of the Graduate School and the Associate Dean for International Education.

Regular, reliable and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited institution of higher education
  • At least three years of experience in an admissions-related position
  • Experience managing/supervising staff in a higher education environment

Preferred Qualifications:
  • A master's degree in a related from an accredited institution of higher education
  • At least five years of experience in an admissions-related position, preferably in a graduate education setting
  • Experience working collaboratively with faculty, staff, and administrators from various constituent groups
  • Experience in international education, preferably which demonstrates knowledge of United States visa laws, rules, and regulations
  • Experience using data to drive continuous improvement and efficiencies

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of current technologies and issues concerning admission and enrollment management in higher education
  • Knowledge of international educational systems and structures
  • Knowledge of US visa laws, rules and regulations
  • Knowledge and experience managing a budget
  • Knowledge and exposure to a student information system such as PeopleSoft and familiarity with online applicant and prospect management databases such as Slate/Technolutions strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated administrative and organizational skills
  • Professional demeanor, with strong interpersonal and communication skills required to work within a collaborative university team
  • Ability to accomplish all tasks independently and with minimal supervision
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally
  • Ability to demonstrate a commitment to the holistic development of diverse student populations
  • Ability to demonstrate a commitment to student success

Additional Information:

Salary Information:

$65,000 - $72,000
