The TCS Education System Military Admissions Specialist, serving as an ambassador of TCS, will report to the Senior Director of Enrollment, Military Outreach and work closely with TCS partner institutions. The Military Admissions Specialist is responsible for recruiting students for certificate and degree programs for all partner institutions affiliate with TCS Education System. The Military Admissions Specialist is responsible for supporting all phases of the admission process, from successfully marketing the programs to qualifying students for admission selection and enrollment. The successful candidate will be articulate, organized, results driven, dynamic, and enthusiastic leader and team player. This position provides an excellent opportunity for a talented and committed professional whose skills and attitude complement a dynamic, collegial team.

Additionally, the Military Admissions Specialist will provide professional and supportive customer service to prospective/current students as well as educate active duty servicemembers, veterans, qualifying dependents, and DOD employees of their MGIB education benefits and the Federal Tuition Assistance program.

Principal Duties:
  • The Military Admissions Specialist will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operation of the field office and serve the unique needs of the military community inquiring about education opportunities and programs offered at TCS partner institutions. The position is student-facing and accountabilities will include initial introduction to partner institutions Systemwide, scheduling Zoom meetings with preferred partner institution, admissions consultations, administrative support, and student application support.
  • Clearly articulates the mission and value of TCS Education System to prospective students.
  • Provides superior customer service to students through the entire admission process.
  • Consistently achieves performance goals for each term by maintaining targeted conversion metrics at each stage of the admission process.
  • Responds to all new inquiries quickly and maintains consistent communication with all students throughout the admission process.
  • Effectively maintains Salesforce database through inquiry management, proper documentation, logging of calls and activities, and purposeful contact strategy.
  • Conducts telephone-based, virtual, and in person consultations to qualify prospective students on their educational goals and interests, to explain available academic programs, to advise them on admission requirements, and to ensure that all admission paperwork is completed properly. Provides more in-depth counseling for undecided students.
  • Maintain communication with Admissions, Administration, Academics and Financial Aid to enhance the process of Admissions and establish positive team relationship between departments.
  • Communicates academic department decisions appropriately, adhering to all policies and procedures.
  • Must have adequate knowledge of all the programs and courses being offered at all TCS partner institutions.

Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Must be able to represent the organization in a professional manner, recruit, and work within a diverse community. Follow all policies and procedures with a keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and listening abilities: persuasive and negotiation skills, strong professional writing, public speaking, interpersonal and public relations skills.
  • Strong recruitment, sales, and customer service skills combined with a strong work ethic and a goal-oriented, self-motivated approach toward achieving consistent results.
  • Leadership, organizational, time management, multi-tasking, and planning capabilities.
  • Computer skills including proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite, as well as experience using customer relationship management systems and the ability to learn new systems quickly.

Qualifications:
  • High School diploma required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Identifies with the unique needs of the military community.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • A minimum of 1 year sales experience or similar background is preferred.
  • Previous admission experience is preferred but not required.
  • Some occasional travel may also be required.
  • Must be able to pass and clear all background and military base clearance security processes

Compensation & Benefits

This opportunity is budgeted at $21.54 - 23.07 base compensation. Additional compensation factors may impact total compensation.
