Union University seeks a qualified individual for the position of Visiting Assistant Professor in Political Science to teach introductory and upper-level courses in Comparative Politics and International Relations for the 2023-2024 Academic Year.

(80 miles northeast of Memphis) with additional campuses in Germantown, Hendersonville, and Memphis, Tenn. Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Ph.D. in Political Science. ABD candidates will be considered. Effective teaching experience, evidence of scholarly potential, and a passion for teaching are also required.

Physical Requirements
The work performed by this position is of a general office nature. It requires the ability to operate a computer and communicate on the telephone and in writing. Work performed does require some walking on campus, extended periods of time sitting and standing, and some daily instances of bending, stooping, and carrying items up to 25 pounds.

Essential Job Duties
- Teaching introductory and upper-level undergraduate courses in Comparative Politics and International Relations.
- Facilitate/guide the progress of students toward achievement of course and program outcomes. Develop critical thinking skills. Assess records related to the evaluation of student outcomes and course grades. Advise students in their career and academic paths.
- Demonstrate interest in the personal and professional growth of students.
- Participate in departmental assessment activities.
- Attend and participate in departmental, divisional, and college-wide meetings.
- Take part in campus and community activities related to the discipline.
- Apply Christian standards and attitudes in relationships with faculty colleagues, staff, and students.
