Assistant Director of Global Admissions

Position Summary

Under the supervision of the Executive Director of Global Enrollment and Engagement, the Assistant Director of Global Admissions assists with the implementation of the university global student enrollment strategy and implementation within assigned territories with the aim to increase the number of global students on campus. Support of regional contracted partners and recruitment agencies, processing of applications, issuing of I-20 forms, and support of new global students’ transition to the Gannon community are all essential tasks for the position. Knowledge and experience with CRM, student management, and other technology tools are critical in this effort. Must be able to support and promote the University’s Mission.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Assists with planning and implementing recruitment strategies in designated world regions to promote growth and diversity of undergraduate and graduate student populations.
• Supports recruitment activities and events, such as orientations and presentations, to external stakeholders.
• Ensures that applicant inquiries and applications are processed with accuracy and expediency according to university guidelines; oversees the application process to ensure expedient issuance of SEVIS documentation.
• Reviews global academic credentials, interprets the applicants’ academic preparedness and ability, and recommends admissions decisions.
• Serves as university Designated School Official (DSO) and may need to serve as Alternate Responsible Officer (ARO) for SEVIS-related processes.
• Collaborates with academic programs directors, deans, and faculty members regarding applicants and the information flow that is needed to render admission decisions.
• Builds and maintains strong relationships with enrollment advisors, guidance counselors, applicants, and parents.
• Manages and supports the recruitment efforts of university’s locally contracted Regional Managers, assists with the management of agreements with local recruitment agencies, and supports their efforts.
• Collaborates with relevant campus offices such as English as a Second Language (ESL), Global Support and Student Engagement, Student Accounts, the Registrar’s, the Cashier’s Office, and Residence Life.
• Prepares enrollment reports: standing reports based on consistent time periods and ad-hoc reports, as needed.
• Assesses data in support of enrollment goals and recommends further action.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

Education: A Bachelor’s degree is required.

Experience: A minimum of three years in international enrollment in higher education to include SEVIS-related activities, international credential evaluation, and international admissions and recruitment. Experience working in a multi-lingual, multi-cultural environment, especially in higher education, is required.
License and Certificates: Must have a valid driver’s license, and passport, and be a U.S. citizen or U.S. lawful permanent resident.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Skills:

• knowledge of a second language is preferred;
• familiarity with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and student management systems is preferred.
