Qualifications
- Valid Mississippi Educator License with a 486 Endorsement
- Minimum of 5 years lead principal experience preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years classroom teaching experience preferred.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Safety/Security
- Coordinate and supervise all aspects of a comprehensive district and school safety program.
- Coordinate and supervise the development of a district reunification plan.
- Train and supervise a district reunification team, and implement reunification plans during a crisis response situation.
- Supervise all coordination with local law enforcement agencies, first responders, EOC, and NWS/NOAA
- Oversee and coordinate the scheduling of traffic control officers at designated schools.
- Oversee and coordinate the scheduling of school security officers at designated schools.
- Collect, review, and approve all time sheets for traffic control officers and school security officers.
- Coordinate with principals and athletic directors to ensure appropriate security is provided at extracurricular activities as needed.
- Develop and provide professional development for schools to promote a safe and orderly school environment.
- Review, coordinate, and oversee all Mississippi Department of Education audit recommendations for school safety, and follows up accordingly to meet requirements in cooperation with appropriate district staff.
- Schedule and oversee routine inspections of the MCS schools to ensure adherence to safety and security standards.
- Assist schools with the development of school crisis and emergency response plans.
- Collect, review, and submit school crisis and emergency response plans for school board approval.
- Oversee and supervise school safety assessments per MDE's guidelines.
- Oversee and supervise Safety/Security Coordinators
Special Affidavit Registration/Residency
- Coordinate and supervise all aspects of special affidavit registration and student residency.
- Coordinate and supervise all special affidavit registration sessions.
- Coordinate with MCS Safety/Security Coordinators regarding the investigation and verification of all residency matters.
- Maintain up-to-date special affidavit reports and documentation.
- Plan and provide training for designated special affidavit liaisons at each school.
- Assist school personnel with special affidavit registration questions.
- Schedule and conduct special affidavit registration appointments for parents of new students as needed.
Data
- Assist with MSIS, SAM, student attendance reports, and student enrollment reports.
HR Investigations
- Assist with investigations involving personnel matters.
- Assist with OCR complaints and reports.
Academic Options Center
- Serve as the AOC Liasson and Discipline/Hearing Officer
Drug Testing
- Oversee and coordinate Student Random-based Drug Testing Program
- Oversee and coordinate Reasonable Suspicion-based Drug/Alcohol Testing Program
- Oversee and coordinate Employee Suspicion-based Drug Testing Program
Drivers' Education
- Oversee the Drivers' Education program district wide.
- Collect, review, and submit all required documents to Mississippi Department of Education
- Oversee and maintain the Drivers' Education fleet of vehicles.
