Description/Job Summary
Reporting to the Dean for Nursing & Health Professions or designee, the Admissions Coordinator, School of Nursing & Health Professions (SNHP) works to recruit, advise, and admit new qualified students into SNHP programs including but are not limited to Nursing, Dental Hygiene, Health Information Technology, Emergency Medical Services, Physical Therapy, Respiratory Care, and Surgical Technology programs. The coordinator manages the application and admissions process for current and transfer students who meet specific prerequisite admissions requirements as designated by the health-related program of interest. The coordinator provides orientation and interest sessions for students.
Responsibilities/Duties
- Recruits new and transfer students into BCCC's nursing and other health-related programs including Nursing, Dental Hygiene, Health Information Technology, Emergency Medical Services, Physical Therapy, Respiratory Care, and Surgical Technology programs.
- Works with advisors and others to properly advise potential new and transfer students on the prerequisite admissions requirements into the nursing and other health-related programs.
- Provides workshops and interest seminars to students and others about the health-related programs.
- Reviews individual applications for admission into assigned health related programs.
- Communicates with students regarding the admissions requirements and application status for students who meet the prerequisite requirements for designated health related programs.
- Serves as liaison between nursing and other health-related programs students and other support area of the college.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited institution.
- One-year experience advising students in a higher education setting.
- Safe driving record and ability to drive to area recruiting events.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Good presentation skills.
- Experience working with Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.
- Experience working with a CRM system such as Banner, PeopleSoft, or similar CRM program.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's Degree from a regionally accredit institution in a related field such as advising, counseling, student personnel, or higher education administration.
- Two or more years of experience working with health-related students in a higher education setting.
- Bi-lingual (preference Spanish speaking and English).
- Community college experience.
