Summary

The Manager of Student Services will be responsible for managing and coaching support services teachers and interventionists, managing related services, leading the Response to Intervention (RTI) program, providing professional development and resources to all staff in the areas of Special Education, 504, Gifted/Talented Support, intervention, and English Language Learners. Additionally, this role will serve as a member of the School Leadership Team. Each school-based Leader of Student Support Services will work closely with the Director of Student Support Services & Managing Director of Schools, roles on Kairos Network Team.

Responsibilities
  • Management of Student Support Services
  • Manage and coach Special Education Teachers to ensure all IEP goals are met and that we close the achievement gap between students with disabilities and general education students.
  • Ensure compliance with all special education, 504, and ELL laws and regulations, including managing IEP caseloads as needed.
  • Oversee a comprehensive Response to Intervention program (management of the program can be done by an interventionist, but oversight is provided by the Manager of Student Support Services)
  • Manage and coach interventionists and ELL teachers to ensure effective instruction
  • Manage all related service providers, including OT, PT, Speech/Language, psychologists, and contracted ABA support
  • Create testing accommodations and alternative assessment schedules and oversee that all students requiring testing accommodations receive them consistently.
  • Works with the Instructional Directors to create behavior RTI plans, oversee and advise on discipline for students with disabilities.
  • Professional Development for Staff
  • Plan, implement, and provide ongoing professional development and feedback to all staff, focusing on differentiation and supporting students with varying needs
  • Conduct classroom observations with other school leaders with a specific focus on improving access, growth and achievement of students with special needs, 504s, Gifted/Talented, and English Language Learners
  • Organize summer training and weekly professional development days in coordination with the Principal.
  • Teacher Coaching
  • Conduct classroom observations and follow-up with targeted feedback to special education teachers and interventionists to increase efficacy of instruction
  • Conduct weekly one on one conversations with direct reports, including time for relationship building, gathering feedback, assessing individual needs, and providing feedback
  • Provide lesson plan feedback to direct reports
  • As needed, consult on lesson plan strategies for differentiation to all staff members
  • Conduct 3x a year teacher performance evaluation
  • Teach classes when necessary to avoid gaps in mandated services or for professional development of teachers.
  • School-Wide Leadership
  • Participate in the teacher recruitment and hiring process, in collaboration with the Principal
  • Serve as an active member of the School Leadership Team, meeting weekly for strategic planning and discussion of school initiatives and data

Technology Skills

Competence in Microsoft Office applications and ability to use a variety of computer applications and platforms. Ability to use basic office equipment. Knowledge and experience in using a computer-based student Information Management system.

Qualifications and Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree required; master's degree preferred
  • Missouri Substitute Certification Required
  • 2+ years of successful full-time teaching experience Required
  • At least one years of successful full-time instructional leadership experience (assistant principal, instructional coach, dean, etc.) preferred
  • Proven track record of personally achieving success and of leading others to improved results
  • Satisfactory completion of criminal records check, pre-hire and annually thereafter, if applicable
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States and provide work authorization.

Starting Salary: $50,000, based on experience

Schedule:
  • Monday through Friday 7:45am- 4:00pm
    • Some weekends and evenings will be required
