The University of Northern Colorado Office (UNC) of Admission seeks an inclusive, service-oriented and enthusiastic professional colleague to join our team. Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Transfer & International Recruitment, the Transfer & International Admission Counselor will serve as a key member of the Office of Admissions recruitment team. The purpose of this position is to serve as a primary line of undergraduate recruitment. This position will be charged with the responsibility of promoting the university, generating interest from prospective students, coaching through critical enrollment steps, and developing relationships and partnerships with a broad constituency, including: transfer students; second bachelor students; international undergraduate students; families/parents of prospective students; community college advisors and counselors; international agency partners; alumni; college access programs; and community based organizations.

Transfer & International Undergraduate Recruitment: 

• Recruitment travel representing UNC at college fairs; international conferences; school-sponsored functions; community college site visits with students, counselors, and advisors; individual appointments/group meetings; engagement with community based organizations, and community/civic events. 
• Utilizing a broad-base of institutional knowledge in order to effectively recruit a successful, motivated, and diverse pool of transfer, second bachelor and international undergraduate students 
• Counseling students and support people about admission criteria and other critical factors in the educational decision process
• Delivering presentations and information sessions to students, families, community members, and campus constituents
• Maintaining accurate records on all recruitment activities, including compiling and reporting on recruitment initiatives and data
• Working with the Assistant Director of Transfer & International Recruitment and Associate Director of Recruitment alongside the Events & Visits team to plan on-campus and virtual recruitment events
• Working closely with the UNC Office of the Registrar during the transfer evaluation process
• Working with and identifying organizations and key partners that serve these populations, this may include the UNC Intensive English program, Reisher Scholars program and others to develop marketing opportunities and partnerships aimed at creating student interest and application referral
• Managing a schedule that involves irregular work hours, including nights, weekends, and overnight travel
• Assist in management of the international@unco.edu email inbox 

Transfer & International Yield Management:

Execution of data-driven outreach targeted at guiding students through critical enrollment steps that are intended to meet enrollment goals. This will require:

• Utilizing coaching techniques and personalized relationship management through multiple channels, including: communication with international agencies; community college site visits; individual appointments/group meetings; receptions/banquets; email, phone, and text campaigns; and working with community college administrators
• Reviewing applications and rendering admissions decisions on transfer, second bachelor and international undergraduate applications
• Understanding Colorado Department of Higher Education and institutional policy in order to counsel and make admissions decisions that fall within required guidelines
• Working closely and meeting regularly with the Principal Designated School Official (PDSO) and the UNC Office of Global Engagement, which serves as a full-service office to support international undergraduate students transitioning to UNC
• Counseling students through tuition costs, available financial aid and preliminary aid awards, and anticipated cost of attendance
• Engaging in innovative and intentional territory management activities including the development of an individualized territory yield plan each year
• Monitoring application progress and auditing student records to ensure completion of application materials

Supporting Programs and Events:

• Large campus visit days for prospective, applicant, and admitted students
• Off-campus events held locally, regionally, or nationally
• Daily visit operations including daily campus tours, academic information sessions, group tours
• Public events and programs held within local community
• These events can occur during working hours, nights, weekends, or holidays

Other Responsibilities: 

• Providing support in planning and programming for various recruitment activities and initiatives
• Providing support for day-to-day operations as part of the Office of Admissions
• Other duties as assigned
