Overview
The U.S. Coast Guard Academy, located in New London, Connecticut, is seeking a passionate International Affairs educator who inspires students and is ready to be inspired by the Corps of Cadets.
Who May Apply: This vacancy is open to U.S. Citizens and non-citizens. Hiring restrictions may apply to certain non-U.S. Citizens. See the “Other information” section of this announcement. Doctoral candidates are urged to apply.
Security Clearance: Not required.
Appointment Type: Time limited, not to exceed 54 weeks from the date of appointment.
Supervisory Position: No.
Relocation Expenses Authorized: No.
Travel Required: Occasional.
Telework Eligible: No.
The successful candidate will teach four sections of Global Challenges and/or International Relations (possibly American Government or Research Methodology) as part of a multi-section, multi-instructor course each semester (Fall 23 and Spring 24). As appropriate, selectee will help develop course syllabi, assignments, readings, projects and assessments of student learning and course outcomes. Selectee will also participate in co-curricular aspects of the course as they arise (museums, theatre productions, etc.). Selectee may have the opportunity to teach a class section(s) in another political science subfield.
