The Orleans Southwest Supervisory Union is seeking an Assistant Director of Student Services. The Assistant Director of Student Support Service's primary role is to support the organization and delivery of special education services in the Supervisory Union. The Assistant Director of Student Support Services will assist the Special Education Director as follows:
-Supervision and evaluation of special education staff and related services staff
-Recruitment and hiring of special education staff
-LEA representation as needed or assigned
-Assist with the following special education tasks:
a. Budget development and monitoring
b. Child Count
c. Medicaid compliance
d. Documentation and Compliance
e. Act 173 Special Education Plan development
f. Out of District Case Management
-Assist in providing instructional leadership within the special education staff
-Support inter-agency and other community-based relationships and collaboration
-Assist with needs assessment and special education program development to serve students on IEPs
-Support collaboration among all staff within the multi-tiered system of support
-Provide professional development opportunities or direct training in support of the Director or independently.
-Provide any other professional assistance as requested by the Director.
This is an extended school-year position with a comprehensive benefits package.

Job Requirements
- Master's Degree in Special Education or another related field; VT Director of Special Education endorsement, documented eligibility for the same or reciprocity with another state. Experience which relates to the position if no direct experience as a special education administrator. Also required is the ability to pass a full background check and attendance at New Staff Orientation on August 18 and 21, 2023.
- At least 3 yearsof relevant experience preferred
- Master degree preferred
- Citizenship, residency or work visa required
