JOB GOAL:

Provide assistance to student services and day-to-day day operations of the Student Services Office by ensuring excellent customer service and compliance with assignment procedures, policies, and laws.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Pay Range 111 $36,818 - $63,963 Twelve (12) month, 245-day contract, plus a benefits package. NOTE: Precise placement within the salary range will be determined based on experience and education. FLSA: Non-Exempt

ACCOUNTABILITY:

Reports Directly to the Executive Director of Student Services

EVALUATION:

Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Board's Policy on Evaluation of Support Services Personnel.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree required from a college or university. One and a half (1 ½) years of LRSD-relevant work experience may be substituted for one year of the required education. (Ex: 6 years of LRSD experience equates to a four-year college degree).
  • Documented experience and training in Crisis Prevention Intervention and excellent customer service skill.
  • Evidence of strong leadership and computer skills, including proficiency in word processing, and must be computer literate in all areas of the eSchool Plus.
  • Evidence of strong organizational and interpersonal skills and the ability to work with and motivate others to work as a team to meet critical deadlines as prescribed by policy and law.
  • Evidence of systems thinking and sound decision-making, and financial management.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to welcome interaction with parents, administration, and co-workers under any conditions.
  • Knowledge of attendance zone and district boundaries
  • Knowledge of School Choice and Legal Transfers as prescribed by law.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    The following statements of duties and responsibilities are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this position.   • Contacts the last school attended to obtain relevant academic and other records.
  • Provides free lunch eligibility status to students.
  • Liaison between the school district, family, community service providers, and agencies.
  • Compiles and analyzes data to effectively monitor and evaluate program effectiveness.
  • Secures intake information e.g., social, medical, and educational history, and completes and maintains required records.
  • Provides training and participates in regular staffing to review cases and revise service plans as needed with administrators, counselors, teachers, and other district staff.
  • Provide ongoing support to patrons and parents around the student assignment policies and practices.
  • Assists unaccompanied students with immediate registration, including considering the youth's wishes in those decisions under the enrollment disputes provision and resolving any issues that may prohibit registration.
  • Manages enrollment for Virtual Academy and reviews documentation for acceptance from School-Based Intervention Teams.
  • Provides information to ADE as required and Local School Board with Legal Transfers.
  • Works in concert with the Homeless Coordinator to facilitate services between shelter residents, and school and community service providers.
  • As necessary, Manage TRIAND utilization, coordinator pays fees and other costs associated with tracking, obtaining, and transferring records necessary to enroll in school including birth certificates, immunization or medical records, academic records, guardianship records, and evaluations for special programs or services.
  • Resolves student enrollment disputes and assists with the school selection process.
  • Updates data management systems on an ongoing and consistent basis to ensure enrollment data is current and within state standards at all times.


  • WORK CONTEXT:

    Requires sitting and some standing, walking, and moving about to coordinate work. Requires face-to-face discussions and contact with individuals and/or teams. Requires the use of alternative communication systems, such as electronic mail, telephones, and computers. Requires coordination of work tasks to establish priorities, set goals and meet deadlines. Requires work with both internal and external contacts, and with the public.

    Mental Functions, Physical Requirements, and Working Conditions:

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, go up and downstairs, operate foot and hand controls, use a telephone and write. Occasionally the employee must lift and/or move up to twenty (20) or more pounds. This position requires accurate perceiving of sound, near and far vision, depth perception, handling and working with educational materials and/or objects, and providing oral information. Must have the ability to work for the duration of the daily contracted time period, and to be physically present and at assigned work, with only infrequent unexcused absences, during the contract year. Additional technical skills, knowledge, and abilities may be recommended by immediate supervisor and approved by the Human Resources Director.
