The position of the Student Services Analyst for Education Concierge Services (ECS) at the Maricopa Community Colleges - District Office will coordinate, administer and implement student academic outreach, admissions, registration, advisement, tuition assistance, and success coaching for industry and community partnerships. Providing operational planning, program management and evaluation, direct student service delivery, as well as problem-resolution, and technical assistance.
Focus student services support will be with new and continuing students, monitors their progress towards completion of degree programs who live inside and outside of Arizona, to new and continuing students with high levels of accuracy, customer service, and report data-driven improvements for third-party employee partners.
Essential Functions
40% - Provides professional-level end-to-end Academic Advising to a caseload of students who are using speciality grants, tuition assistance, and/or in industry partners, to support student learning, persistence, and degree completion. Provides 1:1 as well as group academic advising, on-boarding, retention, and academic advising and success support functions to students to ensure ongoing successful progress to completion of degree program. Provides guidance to students on goal setting, decision making, degree and certificate options, transfer pathways, course selection, registration, academic progress and satisfactory progress toward certificate/degree using PeopleSoft and other technology. Provides advice and consultation to students in selection of options best suited to student's goals, interests and skills. As the primary liaison to business and industry partners, connects students with academic and personal resources including tutoring, counseling, and career services. Provides ongoing, proactive follow up to ensure student learning and progress outcomes are met. Monitors student academic progress through a variety of reporting tools.
20% -Coordinates and administers outreach services with business and industry partners to include but are not limited to: marketing/recruitment; enrollment services; academic advisement; in-class presentations and workshops; and more. Works collaboratively and collegially with academic units and student services throughout the 10 Maricopa Community Colleges and across the district to facilitate comprehensive academic support.
20% - High levels of accuracy, customer service in person, phone, email, and other communication modes with follow up on leads on interest and inquiries of supporting student retention. Collects, inputs, modifies, and verifies student information into Online Student Information System including admissions, class registration, residency, transcripts, graduation requirements. Supports the supervision and provides work direction to undergraduate student workers, RPS employees, and other staff members as needed. Evaluates performance and provides feedback on occasion. Handles immediate or sensitive issues requiring confidentiality or quality assurance. Escalates matters requiring senior leadership intervention at a Director or Dean level.
10% - Creates and prepares reports; collects data, researches, analyzes and interprets complex information; performs other duties as assigned
5% - Maintains relationships with external and internal MCCCD stakeholders
5% - Service as lead worker assigning and monitoring the work of others or may supervise non- exempt level staff
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited institution in education, sociology, business administration or related field and two (2) years of progressively responsible student services experience coordinating, administering, planning, or evaluating programs.
OR
Associate's degree and four (4) years of progressively responsible student services experience coordinating, administering, planning, or evaluating programs.
OR
High School Diploma/GED and six (6) years of progressively responsible student services experience coordinating, administering, planning, or evaluating programs.
Desired Qualifications
A. Master's degree or higher from an accredited institution
B. Two (2) or more year(s) of experience working in a higher education environment in a Student Affairs role such as admissions, records, academic advisement, and/or registration
C. Experience in tracking, analyzing, and reporting data
D. Experience working with a Customer Relations Management (CRM) database
E. Experience using digital tools such as virtual and chat rooms to service customers
F. Experience working with a culturally diverse student population
G. Experience using Online Student Information Systems (e.g., PeopleSoft, Banner, etc.)
H. Bilingual (English/Spanish)
Special Working Conditions
This position will be a hybrid of remote and in-person. Must have a space that includes a strong and reliable internet connection to work remotely and you will be expected to commute to the in-person activities as needed.
Occasion travel out of state may be required for work conferences and/or events.
Possession of a valid State of Arizona Class D driver's license is required; must meet minimum standards regarding driving: http://www.maricopa.edu/legal/rmi/vehicle.htm#requirements
Travel to campus during interview/selection process will be at candidate's own expense.
May be required to work at multiple sites or locations.
