JOB DESCRIPTION -
POSITION OVERVIEW
The At-Risk Student Coordinator has a portfolio of students who have been identified based on attendance, performance, and discipline challenges. The At-Risk Student Coordinator provides case management and support to students within their portfolio, builds high quality, supportive and challenging relationships, and connects with other adults in their life to help support holistic strategies for development and success. The At-Risk Student Coordinator utilizes strategies such as home visits, coordinating with classroom teachers and clinical professionals, familiarizing themselves with afterschool and out-of-school supports, etc., to develop a holistic understanding of students’ learning, home, and social context. The At-Risk Student Coordinator
must be able to work with multiple stakeholders, independently build strong relationships among them and be self-directed in purpose while holding student achievement at the center. The At-Risk Student Coordinator
will review and analyze student-level data to understand and report on the effectiveness of interventions for students on their case load.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Case management for targeted students who have had behavior infractions or are referred including intakes, connecting students with appropriate support and intervention, ongoing follow up, and building relationships with students’ families, teachers, and other stakeholders
Through home visits, relationship building at Manley, and other referral processes, identify, follow up with, and create intervention plans for students whose are not attending school
Case management and oversight of the re-entry process for all students who are returning to Manley from a suspension, home stay, or other long term leave of absence
Participation on the Clinical Care Team
Leadership role in meetings with security guards and other Advocate Associate to review individual students and make sure that interventions are impactful
Utilize data systems to track student performance, progress to goals, and to drive additional intervention recommendations
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree (BA) from a four-year college or university
Minimum 3 years experience working with young people and family members
Flexibility with evening hours
Experience taking initiative in complex environments and systems
Strong ability to build relationships with students, parents, and teachers
Experience and comfort having critical conversations with students that move them toward realistic goals and next steps
Detail oriented and data savvy
Able to maintain multiple, deep relationships with students and adults at one time.
