Your Role:

The Senior VP of Diversity and Inclusion provides expertise, strategic, and thought leadership to drive the implementation and execution of organization-wide workplace diversity and inclusion initiatives. This position will cultivate, promote, and champion an equitable, diverse, and inclusive workplace centered on CEA CAPA’s mission, vision, and values.  The SVP will guide our Go To Market’s externally facing business functions, create partnerships, and serve as a thought leader and internal consultant on diversity and inclusion topics. Additionally, this position will partner with functional leaders across the organization to build alignment of diversity practices to business operations to better drive business results.

 

What You’ll Do:

  • Serve as a champion for Diversity, Inclusion & Equity (DEI) including internal and external engagements and communications.
  • Promote student success through inclusive access to impactful global experiences.
  • Serves as a leader and strategic advisor to leadership on global diversity and inclusion topics to drive transparency, accountability, and build a diverse and equitable workplace.
  • Plan and implement diversity and inclusion initiatives and activities that effectively engage underrepresented student populations.
  • Create an overarching DEI strategy in alignment to CEA CAPA’s business objectives and values.
  • Develop, track and report on KPI’s to help focus efforts, showcase impact, and ensure DEI program success that drives business outcomes.
  • Utilize data and analytics-based insights to drive improvements of organizational DEI initiatives.
  • Align DEI with business strategies and standards to achieve an optimized workforce that improves organizational outcomes.
  • Guide learning and development experiences to develop staff and leaders who model and drive inclusive behaviors.
  • Collaborate with the HR department to develop metrics for measuring organization wide, department, and individual employee performance on DEI key performance indicators; oversee metrics collection; evaluate results, and provide recommendations for improvements.
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition to oversee creation of data driven strategies, leveraging employee lifecycle data to inform how we attract, select, grow and retain talent.
  • Provide support of CEA CAPA’s Affinity Groups to position them as strong partners in and creating a sense of belonging for CEA CAPA’s employees.
  • Act as the Executive Sponsor for CEA CAPA’s justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion (JEDI) committee and provide strategic guidance as needed.

 

What Makes a Great Candidate:

  • 6+ years of experience in DEI senior leadership
    • Previous experience in higher education preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred
  • Proven record of tying authentic diversity initiatives to business results
  • Experience in conflict resolution, facilitating difficult conversations and developing, implementing, and managing resolutions to concerns.
  • Experience with P&L responsibility
  • Experience in strategic planning and goal setting; leading and managing projects; tracking data and developing and delivering reports on progress to executives and the Board of Directors.
  • Proven ability to consult, advise and influence departments globally.

Soft Skills:

  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to project credibility, build trust, and deliver results.
  • Must be creative, analytical, compelled by challenges, and oriented to the achievement of specific goals.
  • Excellent oral and written skills, as well as advocacy skills and the ability to listen and understand the concerns of various groups, while balancing the interests of the organization
