The Office of Undergraduate Admission assembles a freshman class of 1,700 students and a transfer class of approximately 50 students each year. The Office of Undergraduate Admission seeks an Assistant Director who, under the supervision of the Senior Assistant Dean/Deputy Director of Admission for International and Internal Relations, will assist in the development and implementation of strategies to recruit and enroll students.Under minimal supervision, the Assistant Director will administer, implement and interpret university and/or department admission policies and procedures.

Your responsibilities include:
  • Reading, evaluating, presenting freshman and transfer applications to the Admission Committee based on reader training, including university priorities.
  • Acting as primary or secondary project manager on small, medium and large projects/programs by establishing and executing project plans, timelines, tasks, and objectives.
  • Conducting information sessions for internal and external communities, ranging from topics such as Stanford to highly selective admission to letter-writing workshops for counselors.
  • Managing assigned geographic territory by researching, compiling and analyzing various demographics data. Creating proposal for outreach and presenting findings to management with recommendations.
  • Further developing and strengthening relationships with secondary schools or university personnel, community-based organizations, students, parents and alumni.
  • Serving as a resource to other departments; representing unit/department at activities and events, meetings, committees and conferences.
  • May supervise the work of other staff.

In addition, requirements include:

• Bachelor’s degree and 2 years relevant experience or combination of education and relevant experience.

The expected pay range for this position is $77,000 to $94,000 per annum. Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for a position. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location and external market pay for comparable jobs.
