The American College of the Mediterranean (ACM), a U.S. non-profit institution with American-style degree programs at its Aix-en-Provence, France campus and study abroad operations in France, Italy, Spain, and Morocco, invites applications for the Assistant Director of Admissions for Degree Programs position. Based at ACM's U.S. Office in San Diego, CA, the Assistant Director is under the supervision of the Associate Director of Admissions and Financial Aid. This is an ideal opportunity for up-and-coming professionals who have studied abroad, have experience with the French language, and who have worked in an admissions and/or study abroad office. 

Job Purpose

The Assistant Director of Admissions for Degree Programs provides leadership, execution, and support of the marketing and recruitment initiatives for ACM's bachelor’s and master’s degree programs based at its campus in Aix-en-Provence, France.

Minimum Requirements

Experience that the ideal candidate would possess includes:

  • Three or more years of work experience in an admissions or study abroad office environment
  • Language skills: Intermediate to advanced reading, writing, and verbal skills in French
  • Study abroad experience or has spent extensive time in an international setting
  • Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree in business, leadership, or related field preferred

Description of Duties and Tasks
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:

  • Executes ACM’s comprehensive marketing and recruitment initiatives including social media
  • Serves as main contact/advisor for all degree program inquiries and applicants
  • Sits on the admissions committee and prepares completed degree student applications for review by the committee
  • Manages ACM’s Common App portal including undergraduate and transfer applications
  • Provides student visa support Uses HubSpot (CRM) to maintain prospective student and applicant engagement
  • Leverages IAU Study Abroad partnerships for graduate degree marketing and recruitment
  • Builds a network of stakeholders including career service officers, community college transfer service officers, high school guidance counselors, and IAU partner institution faculty
  • Oversees and updates ACM’s print and online publications
  • Supports and collaborates with the Assoc. Dir. of Admissions & Financial Aid for FA awarding process
  • Prepares enrollment reports: standing reports based on consistent time periods and ad-hoc reports as needed Updates ACM catalog and supports the renewal of ACM’s license through the state of Arizona
  • Conducts occasional domestic travel representing ACM at regional/national conferences, IAU Study Abroad partner institutions, community colleges, and high schools
  • International travel to visit and observe operations at ACM degree and study abroad campuses
  • Facilitates development and implementation of ACM admissions policies and procedures
  • Plays an integral role in SIS implementation (SONIS) and future I.T. development
  • Updates ACM website as needed
  • Oversees and management of ACM’s degree program School of Record institutional partnerships and related requirements
  • Establishes and maintains professional networks with related international education and admissions organizations and agencies (ie: AIEA, NAFSA, NACAC, WACAC, CCID, etc)
  • Supports ACM’s application for NECHE accreditation as needed Working knowledge of ACM’s study abroad operations through the Institute for American Universities (IAU)
  • Collaborates with ACM colleagues abroad as required
  • Other duties as assigned

Physical Requirements

  • Occasional lifting of objects up to 10 pounds Subject to standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, kneeling, pushing, and pulling Work is performed in a standard office environment
