At Harris, the true value of what makes us successful is found in our people. It is our unique mix of cultures, experiences, beliefs and backgrounds that sets Harris apart from the rest. We constantly strive to cultivate, nurture and amplify an unparalleled environment, where we value intellectual curiosity and uniqueness of thought. Inclusion is embedded in the very fabric of our culture of collaboration and openness.
We understand that a only tells one part of a broader story, and Harris is seeking dynamic candidates who can add to our best-in-class environment. We recognize that qualifications can be gained through both traditional and non-traditional paths, and we are committed to considering candidates who possess the potential to be excellent in this role regardless of prior experiences.
Therefore we encourage ALL interested individuals to submit their applications, even if they do not meet every requirement outlined in the job description.
Harris Associates is one of the most respected value investment firms in the industry. For 45 years, we have applied a fundamentally focused, research-driven investment process to identify undervalued companies in the public market. We view every investment we make as ownership in a business and take a long-term approach in our portfolios. The long-term results have been strong, and as of 8/31/2023 we manage $101 billion of assets across U.S. and international strategies.
Harris Associates' strong performance is a result of our unique culture and approach to investing. Instead of dividing our team into sectors, our analysts are all generalists, researching companies across a wide range of industries, countries, and cap sizes. This strategy lends itself to a highly collaborative environment, and our team works together daily to vet investment ideas and ensure we make the best possible decisions.
The International Research Associate position is designed to identify and train the next generation of analysts, portfolio managers, and leaders at Harris Associates. You can expect to collaborate with analysts to help generate new investment ideas and follow existing portfolio companies. This will entail doing qualitative research projects, building financial models, learning about businesses, and interviewing C suite level executives at companies.
We are looking for smart, ambitious, and thoughtful individuals to bring their unique perspective to Harris Associates. The best candidates are voracious learners and are constantly asking questions about the world around them. Importantly, this does not require a background in finance or economics - just intellectual horsepower and a genuine interest in learning what makes businesses succeed or fail.
As a Research Associate at Harris, you will be mentored directly by our analysts and will progress at a pace that makes sense for you. For some, this may mean more time dedicated to the fundamentals of business valuation, whereas others may focus on qualitative business insights. Through this personalized learning, our goal is to develop Research Associates into thoughtful, contributing members of our team. All majors, backgrounds, and ages are encouraged to apply.
