We are looking for a Tutor to join our Sewa AmeriCorps program to help students review assignments, review exams and prepare for tests. A Tutor is responsible for helping students learn and understand new concepts and complete assignments. They prepare lessons to teach and provide additional projects. You will help students in gaining a better understanding of concepts taught in school. You may also communicate with site supervisors to track progress. Responsibilities: - Quarter Time AmeriCorps members serve minimum of 450 hours in 10 months from 9/1/23 to 8/31/24 - Reviewing classroom or curricula topics and assignments - Subject based virtual tutoring of 8 - 9 students Mon-Thu - Facilitate interaction with students and other tutors to plan and coordinate lessons - Demonstrate academic competence in the subject area and build curriculum and post lesson plans on the google drive - Assisting students with homework, projects, test preparation, papers, research etc, - Assisting students to help them understand key concepts, - Track student's learning progress, and advancement. - Facilitate problem-solving with a curious mind and critical thinking - Collaborate effectively with others to increase student performance - Plan and execute weekend fun activities for the kids onsite - Maintain timesheets and hours spent tutoring, site visits, training etc. - Members may be required to participate in other services like summer camp Requirements and skills US citizenship or green card - High school diploma or equivalent - Tutor experience preferred - Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, etc. - Strong written and verbal communication skills - Knowledge of curriculum building, Team Building - Patient, flexible, positive, consistent, dependable and cooperative - Ability to take supervision and correction constructively - Ability to positively supervise students - Access to reliable transport.
