Ballet Instructor (International District/ Chinatown Community Center)
If you have a knowledge and understanding of Ballet fundamentals and passion for and experience teaching, Associated Recreation Council (ARC) has a role for you as a Ballet Instructor at International District/ Chinatown Community Center. This is a seasonal/ year-round part-time role starting from early-Jan 2024. There are multiple opportunities to extend.
ARC, in partnership with Seattle Parks and Recreation, serves Seattle by offering access to licensed childcare and a variety of recreational and lifelong learning programs, classes, and activities. In this role, the Ballet Instructor at International District/ Chinatown Community Center will lead participants through 30-minute lessons. The class's objectives are to strengthen bodies and minds and provide a safe and positive environment for children to express themselves.
Schedule:
Tuesday : 1pm - 2:30pm
Thursday: 3pm - 5:30pm

Ballet Instructor duties and responsibilities include:
- Develop and deliver developmentally appropriate class lesson plans for cohorts. Instructors are expected to plan their weekly dance lessons.
- Plan, lead and implement age-appropriate lessons for ballet classes, focusing on strengthening minds and bodies, introductory skills, fine motor development, and dance appreciation.
- Instructors are expected to set up and clean up the space before and after each weekly lesson.
- Complete required administrative reports, such as attendance sheets and accident reports.
Ballet Instructor requirements include:
- Must be 18 years of age.
- Experience working with children
- Experience teaching ballet.
- Must pass a WSP criminal background check.
Pay:
- $25.50 - 28.50/hr.
