Job Summary

The Associate Dean for Student Affairs for the University of Kentucky, Office of Medical Education (OME) oversees the coordination and implementation of student events and support services that facilitate student engagement and belonging across all OME campuses. The Associate Dean for Student Affairs is responsible for the ongoing evaluation and compliance with the Liaison Committee for Medical Education (LCME) accreditation standards related to, student wellness programs, personal counseling, educational enhancements (e.g., service learning, student organizations), adequacy of scholarship support, and financial aid and debt management counseling. Reporting directly to the Senior Associate Dean for Medical Student Education, the Associate Dean for Student Affairs supervises the assistant deans and staff responsible for learning communities, wellness, financial aid, student events, and educational enhancements including service opportunities and service learning. In collaboration with the Associate Deans and staff at regional campuses, the Associate Dean for Student Affairs also oversees and ensures comparability of student resources, learning communities, wellness, scholarships, and debt management counseling across all OME campuses.

Preferred Education/Experience

Doctorate degree: a Ph.D. or Ed.D. in medical education, counseling, higher education or closely related program; or M.D., D.O. or M.B.B.S. plus 11 or more years related experience preferred. Leadership experience in student support services, preferably in the health professions.
