Examination Proctor

Responsible for monitoring one to ten students in a small testing environment to ensure compliance with exam procedures and rules. Will be responsible for administering the exam with specific instructions relevant to the accommodations of the student(s) in the room. Typically, the proctor will need to keep track of the student's start and end times, keep track of approved breaks when applicable, and adjust times as necessary. Verify all students have submitted ALL required documents and returned all materials before leaving the exam room.

Schedule Requirements
  • Candidates must be able to work from 8:00 a.m. to 6 p.m. each weekday although some exams will require additional time meaning that the release time can be as late as 7 p.m.
  • This position is from Friday, April 26th to Friday May 10th, 2024.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Adhering to established exam policies and procedures.
  • Securing, distributing, and collecting exam materials.
  • Reading verbal instructions.
  • Properly timing exams.
  • Collecting and recording each completed exam.
  • Documenting irregularities and reporting them to the appropriate office.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required
  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Word; basic knowledge of MS Excel, HTML, internet browsers, and email usage.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Ability to manage tight timelines and appropriately rank the importance of multiple tasks.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively and diplomatically with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills.
  • Good judgment.
  • Strong organizational and planning abilities.
  • Move quietly around assigned sections and classrooms with ease.
  • Stay awake and alert during long periods of silence.
