JOB TITLE: STUDENT SERVICES

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Student services focuses on helping students personally, academically and socially
to ensure the success of every student in the school system. The student services
role encompasses working with all students in various settings to help students
with academic, social and emotional issues as they arise to ensure students are
able to transition back into the classroom to achieve academic success.

REQUIREMENTS:
A. Education Level: Bachelor's degree, Current Teaching License, Administrative
Certificate preferred but not required.
B. Experience Desired: Experience in grades 6th-8th, experience in leadership
roles, experience working with data, experience working with student discipline,
experience working with parents and stakeholders.
C. Physical Requirements: This position requires constant physical
activity and endurance. Activities will require that personnel are exposed to sunlight,
wind, and other adverse weather conditions.
D. Other Requirements: Educational knowledge, strong interpersonal
relationships, commitment to team, strong organization, communication skills,
interdisciplinary skills; and demonstrated ability to follow Board policy.

REPORTS TO: Principal

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES:
1. Serve as student services liaison to ensure student success.
2. Work one on one with students as required.
3. Work in small groups with students that have similar needs.
4. Develops Student Assistance Programs to help students successfully complete coursework.
5. Counsels students to help students succeed.
6. Develops Educational and Career Action Plans (ECAPs) with 8th grade students annually.
7. Serve as an academic counselor to ensure student success.
8. Assist with the development of instructional programs.
9. Coordinates Positive Behavior Intervention Support (PBIS) programs.
10. Coordinates school-wide social and emotional programs.
11. Coordinates student intervention plans to ensure student success.
12. Collects and disseminate student data to improve student academics.
13. Supervise during school functions.
14. Communicate with the Principal on student discipline issues.
15. Assists with minor discipline issues in cooperation with the principal.
16. Substitute in the absence of school administration and teachers.
17. Assist with the development and implementation of scheduling.
18. Assist with the development and implementation of testing procedures.
19. Contact and work with parents on student related issues.

B. Climatic Environment (if applicable):
Possibly exposed to extremes of temperature. Occasionally subjected to extreme
noise, odors, mists, dust and poor ventilation.
C. Work Year:
The Student Services responsibilities may occur from July 1-June 30. Duties of
the position will include 10 extra contract days to be paid at the employee's daily
rate. Days will be set by the building principal.
D. Salary/Benefits:
Salary and benefits will be aligned with governing board policy and the teacher salary
placement schedule.
