Position Details

The Department of Political Science and International Studies at The University of Tampa invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor position. We are seeking a candidate who can teach sections in at least one of the following: Introduction to American Politics, Introduction to Comparative Politics, or Introduction to International Relations. The candidate should also be comfortable teaching multiple sections of our special topics' general education course for non-majors called "Politics and Society." These courses can fall into any subfield and would reflect the candidate's expertise and interests. A major component of the "Politics and Society" classes will be teaching students how to write in the Political Science discipline. The course load for the position is 4/4. There is no research expectation and service requirements are minimal.

Successful candidates will demonstrate their commitment to teaching students in a liberal arts setting. We prefer candidates who have already obtained their Ph.D., though we will consider candidates very near to completion of the Ph.D. The successful applicant's contract will begin in Fall 2024. The contract is for the 2024-2025 academic year, with no guarantee of renewal thereafter.

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Review of applications begins 26 February 2024 and will continue until the position is filled.
