Essential -
  • Supervise the Director of Residence Life and Student Activities, Coordinator of Campus Safety, Manager of ID/Rec Center, E-Sports Coach/Advisor and Coordinator of Intramurals.
  • Provide leadership for and direct college-wide emergency planning including, but not limited to serving as the chair of the Crisis Team; reviewing and updating the Campus Emergency Plan Handbook; responsibility for emergency planning activities including tabletop training exercises and campus-wide emergency drills.
  • Provide leadership for and direct college-wide activities related to student due-process/judicial proceedings, including, but not limited to writing appropriate policies and procedures and conducting investigations and hearings on student judicial matters.
  • Provide leadership for and direct activities related to student health services.
  • Provide leadership for and direct activities related to college & outside food service relations.
  • Coordinate and direct campus activities including clubs, organizations, intramurals, and Esports.
  • In collaboration with the Coordinator of Equity and Compliance, assist in completing the Clery Report and Annual Fire and Safety Report.
  • In collaboration with the Vice President of Student Services, plan, design, develop and deliver student services that implement the goals of the college.
  • Develop and implement policies, procedures and practices which foster and promote student learning and student success.
  • Assume leadership and responsibility for establishing an environment which promotes respect for students, faculty, and staff.
  • Communicate an accurate image of the College to the public. Serve as a positive and active representative and role model of the College at public events.
  • Maintain confidentiality of information regarding students, supervisors, or other employees.
  • Provide leadership for and direct activities related to special projects.
  • Implement other directives as assigned by the Vice President of Student Services.
  • Serve actively on campus committees.
  • Arrive on time for work, attend work regularly, and successfully complete the responsibilities of the position.
  • Comply with HutchCC policies, procedures, and practices.

Secondary -
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the Vice President of Student Services.

  • Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree in a student personnel related field preferred.
  • Demonstrated understanding of and a commitment to the community college mission and purpose.
  • Knowledge and understanding of student development theory and programs; knowledge of student due process policies / procedures; knowledge and understanding of the current issues and trends in student affairs and student development.
  • A demonstrated ability to supervise employees effectively is required.
  • Experience in student life programming is preferred.
  • Computer literacy, including spreadsheets, word processing, and presentation software, is preferred.
  • The ability to work effectively and professionally with students, faculty, and staff with diverse needs.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in a student-centered environment.
  • Physical requirements include excellent verbal, written, and listen communication skills; excellent organizational skills; ability and willingness to collaborate; ability to work independently; use appropriate judgment and to apply tact and courtesy in difficult situations; occasional lifting up to 50 pounds may be required.
  • Mental requirements include the ability to learn and comprehend basic instructions about the position.

The salary is commensurate with qualifications as determined by HutchCC administration. This full-time administrative staff position is 12 months annual, benefit eligible, at-will, and exempt.
