Florida A&M University is pleased to announce the acceptance of qualified applications for the Coordinator, Admissions and Registration vacancy. This opening will be used to fill position numbers 19912 & 19913.


The incumbent will target and recruit students for the health professions programs (primarily the PharmD program, School of Nursing, and School of Allied Health Sciences); Collaborates with team members to develop programs and marketing materials; Visits schools and make presentations to groups and individuals; and this position will report directly to the Director, Academic Support Services for Health Professions.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Provides career and academic counseling, planning, and advising to potential graduate students; Assists students in the development of testing strategies, writing skills, and completion of applications through seminars and workshops; Coordinates applications for financial assistance; Participates in the development of student recruitment and retention plans, strategies, and written materials; Visits middle schools, high schools, and colleges, speaks to groups and individual students, and meets with school counselors to promote outreach activities; Coordinates community workshops and retreats; Arranges visits from prospective students and parents; Serves as a liaison to develop partnerships between the university and local school systems throughout the state; Creates a database of prospective and current students and/or potential degree candidates in the state; Distributes resource materials for student recruitment and retention programs; Spearheads social media initiatives for recruitment and branding; and performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in appropriate area of specialization and two years of related experience; or master's degree in appropriate area of specialization.

Knowledge of the principles and practices of student program planning, development, and evaluation;

Knowledge of and the ability to interpret and apply related University policies, procedures, principles, and practices; and,

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.

Pay Plan

This is an Administrative and Professional (A&P) position.

Conditions of Employment
