Springfield College Office of Undergraduate Admissions invites applications for a temporary Undergraduate Admissions Representative. This is a temporary, 10-month, full-time, benefit eligible position. The appointment date for this position is August 2024 through May 2025.


Primary Responsibilities:

Under the supervision of the Executive Director of Undergraduate Admissions, the Undergraduate Admissions Representative will conduct recruitment travel in a specific recruitment territory.

Responsibilities include:

Establish and maintain an informational, active communication system with high school students, their parents, and high school counselors/teachers
  • Counsel students and their parents concerning admissions, financial aid, housing options, and career planning
  • Conduct office-based contact by mail and phone with students and parents
  • Use prospect management techniques to conduct appropriate outreach to students at each stage of the admissions process

Identify and recruit prospective students in a designated market.
  • Manage a recruitment territory
  • Plan and arrange all phases of regional and local travel

Application reader
  • Review of applications for admission to include transcript evaluation, re-calculation of high school GPA to determine merit eligibility, test score interpretation and evaluation of essay and personal references.
  • Follow-Up phone work with secondary school counselors re: academic and personal information on applicants.
  • Make recommendations on admission to Director of Admissions.

  • Bachelor's degree required.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • This position required occasional evening, holiday or weekend work to attend open house, Saturday visits, college fairs and night programs.
  • Extensive recruitment travel is required in specific recruitment territory.
  • Valid driver's license, with a College insurable driving history, is required for this position. A full motor vehicle/driving history report will be required as a part of the background check process.
