Essential Job Duties:
The part-time Admissions Application Reader position was created to assist the staff with reviewing first-year and transfer applications for undergraduate admission. The position is fully remote and will work approximately 20 hours per week Monday through Friday. Readers will work from mid-September through the beginning of April. Application review training and guidance will be provided. In mid-Septmber is when the training would start.
Other Work/Responsibilities:
- Read first-year and transfer undergraduate applications for admission to North Carolina State University.
- Analyze qualifications of prospective students utilizing admissions guidelines
- Evaluate electronic applications and related materials.
- Become familiar with submitting reader review forms in Technolutions Slate (Customer Relationship Manager of Undergraduate Admissions).
- Follow up with applicants by email if additional information is needed.
Required Qualifications:
- BA/BS degree or a combination of education and relevant work experience to total at least four years.
- Previous admissions reading experience or equivalent (high school counselor, college advisor, college advising corps member)
- Basic computer skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Must be a team player
- Reliable internet
- Ability to consistently work 20 hours per week from October to April
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous admissions reading experience
- Higher education admissions experience
