Job Summary
The Study Abroad Advisor provides the comprehensive academic and intercultural support and guidance for students before, during, and after the experience abroad. This position serves as the primary day-to-day contact for students during the application process and helps implement outreach and programming initiatives specifically designed to grow and diversify study abroad participation.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Providing comprehensive support and guidance for students throughout the study abroad advising and application process, including organization and maintenance of online and submitted application documents as well as advising on both UTA and national scholarships for study abroad; Creating and facilitating workshops/information sessions and promotional events (New Maverick Orientation, Study Abroad 101 information sessions, scholarship and financial planning workshops, study abroad fairs, pre-departure orientations, etc.); Working closely with multiple UTA departments to coordinate participant records, including program enrollment, course approval, registration, grade posting and program budget estimates; Developing marketing initiatives and opportunities for cross-campus collaboration; and organizing virtual networking and promotion, including email blasts and social media. Supervising student workers, including assigning and overseeing projects; Supporting the work of UTA Study Abroad and the Office of International Education and collaborating with other Division of Student Affairs offices and campus partners in programming efforts; Staying current and involved in the broader field of international education through activities such as serving on national scholarship committees, attending and presenting at conferences, etc. Performing other duties assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree with one (1) year of working experience in international education and/or overseas living, working, or study experience. Familiar with MS Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience in a Study Abroad office. Experience with TerraDotta software. Experience with Photoshop, Publisher, or other desktop publishing software. Experience presenting information before groups. Creative and self-directed with exceptional organizational and communication skills.

Work Schedule
Monday-Friday; 8:00am-5:00pm
