The International Student and Scholar Services department is seeking a dedicated Admissions Advisor, Univ Senior to join our dynamic team. In this job you will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with immigration regulations as well as providing essential guidance and support to international students. Classification Summary:
Serves as an ambassador and representative of the University with a variety of audiences, including prospective students and their families, applicants, newly admitted students, P-12 school district students and staff, community college students and staff, business and other community members, University faculty and staff, and alumni. Responsible for managing respective recruitment territory, which includes extensive fall travel during the six to eight week long recruitment season. Guides prospective students and their families through the application process. Develops and maintains excellent working relationships with key constituencies in recruitment territory. Responsible for assisting with all areas of admission including undergraduate, transfer, graduate and international recruitment, marketing and communications, event planning, Aggie Welcome Orientation programming, family engagement activities, campus visits, etc.

Classification Standard Duties:
Creates and leads teams of individual University Admission Advisors and Student Ambassadors to successfully complete tasks related to a specific area of on-going responsibility Participate in the planning and implementation of annual admission recruitment, application and enrollment strategies. Develop marketing strategies, recruitment publications and communications, travel schedules, collection and analysis of aggregate and disaggregate recruitment and demographic data. Conduct campus tours, formal and informal presentations, tele-recruiting and e-recruiting activities. Evaluate applicant qualifications and advise accordingly. Coordinate and/or participate in a variety of campus programs and special events to engage with the community and to market and recruit potential new students. Work collaboratively with University Financial Aid and Scholarship Services staff..Disseminates pertinent information, in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and University policies in accordance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).Monitors progress of applicants to admitted and enrolled status. Provides policy interpretation and advisement as appropriate, in accordance with university policy, accreditation standards, and privacy laws. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Required Education, Experience, Certification/License, Equivalency

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
KNOWLEDGE:Knowledge of current industry best practices.Knowledge of customer service standards and procedures, system-wide admissions policies, standards, and procedures. Knowledge of the full spectrum of university academic units, curricula, and programs. Knowledge of College-level maintenance requirements for student records principles, policies and procedures. Knowledge of national, regional and local student recruitment and retention issues.; SKILLS:Strong leadership skills and understanding of effective leadership theory, practice and techniques.Strong interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills, especially in public speaking.Demonstrated proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office suite of computer software applications. Demonstrated time and materials management skills. Effective utilization of student information systems and customer relations management systems. Database and records management and/or maintenance skills. General office administrative and secretarial skills.; ABILITIES:Ability to utilize data analyses and knowledge of current industry best practices to adapt NMSU and individual practices. Solutions oriented, with a high level of creativity and the ability to analyze complex problems. Demonstrated ability to effectively and successfully organize and lead a team. Job Duties and Responsibilities
Serves as a Designated School Official (DSO) and Alternate Responsible Officer (ARO) that interprets and enforces regulations, as established by the Departments of State and Homeland Security, for F and J visa holders. Provide programming and outreach activities for international students. Coordinator for government sponsored students, advise students regarding their responsibilities to comply with immigration regulations while studying, working, and traveling, maintain students' immigration records in SEVIS to ensure that they remain in status and that the university stays in compliance with its mandatory reporting requirements. Assist international students in finding solutions to non-immigration-related matters and connect them with appropriate university units. Manages students' information and holds in Banner, processes OPT, STEM OPT and CPT applications, coordinates and processes Competitive Scholarships for international students, processes I-20 extensions, coordinates New International Student Orientation (NISO) virtual check in process.
