Job Overview

Georgetown’s School of Continuing Studies (SCS) seeks to foster a collaborative, innovative, and student-first culture shaped by our Jesuit heritage and values. SCS endeavors to be a center of innovation and growth within the University by introducing academic programs that respond to emerging and evolving needs in the economy and society. When you join our team at SCS, you become part of a thriving ecosystem of staff and faculty committed to inspiring students to seek something greater in their lives and careers.

The Program Director of Enrollment Management (PDEM), English Language Center (ELC) directs and supervises the entire enrollment process and academic operations, including: inquiry, application, admissions, visa issuance and advising; registration, billing, third party sponsor management; and student support services and advising (such housing, health insurance, GoCard, enrollment/registration operational support) for international students who apply and are admitted to the ELC programs at Georgetown University School of Continuing Studies.

The PDEM is a Designated School Official (DSO), certified by the Department of Homeland Security, to analyze and develop enrollment policies and procedures for incoming students to ensure they meet U.S. visa eligibility requirements; and maintain a thorough knowledge of federal regulations and requirements related to international student admissions to Georgetown. They supervise all procedures related to ELC program applications and enrollment, including document processing, data management, student counseling and liaison work with other campus departments and college and universities. They also work closely with the ELC Senior Director to determine enrollment goals, and consult with embassies, student financial sponsors and students to maintain student’s enrollment in the ELC.

They are a Designated School Official (DSO), authorized by the Department of Homeland Security, to access SEVIS (Student and Exchange Visitor Information System) and process visa documents for students admitted to the intensive English program. The PDEM interprets federal policies and implements federal regulations to ensure that ELC applicants and admitted students are compliant with federal law, thus maintaining their F-1 student status.

The PDEM has direct impact on the admissions, continued enrollment and potential transfer eligibility of international students in Georgetown’s ELC programs; and is a key strategic partner in the development of Georgetown University’s School of Continuing Studies’ overall international recruitment strategy. They consult with and advise other departmental colleagues, as well as other campus entities, including but not limited to the Registrar’s Office, Insurance Office, Financial Offices, Student Employment, and UIS; and they also consult with other campus DSO officials throughout the United States on matters of student transfer and admission.

The PDEM manages student support and academic operations to ensure students are acclimated to study in the U.S. with supportive housing and health insurance guidance, as well as to meet program guidelines for registration and student accounts.
