Job Description: This position is responsible for the recruitment of international degree-seeking and sponsored students to the College's undergraduate, graduate, and ESL programs. This position works collaboratively with Undergraduate Admissions and Recruitment and the Office of Graduate Admission. The Assistant Director will provide input to and implement an international recruitment plan to help position Saint Rose as a center for global connection. A successful recruitment plan will be multi-faceted and include international travel, web-based and digital marketing and student search. II. RESPONSIBILITIES: - Executes effective recruitment strategies and tactics for international students, which include, but are not limited to, international and domestic travel to introduce the College to international students living globally and abroad, web-based and digital marketing, and relationship-building with key international partners, organizations, global advocates and on-campus community members.
- Develops and achieves new student enrollment goals, operational objectives and measures the effectiveness of strategies to inform future planning.
- Recommends, implements, and administers streamlined and timely processes to enhance international application processing and operations.
- Meets enrollment goals for assigned target recruitment area.
- Engages in travel to U.S. and overseas high schools, college fairs, student conferences, to provide information to prospective students and their parents and promote The College.
- Works closely with overseas and U.S. school counselors to aid in the recruitment of prospective international undergraduate students.
- Visits U.S community/junior colleges to recruit new international transfer students.
- For undergraduate applications, reviews and evaluates applications for completion, and performs international application credential evaluations to determine equivalency to U.S. educations standards.
- Conducts individual counseling with undergraduate students and parents, including online recruiting events such as webinars and chats, and prepares follow-up correspondence.
- Monitors all aspects of the international, undergraduate student electronic and traditional application processes.
- Serves as a Designated School Official (DSO) and Assistant Responsible Office (ARO) with responsibility for issuing initial immigration documents for undergraduate students. (I-20 and DS-2019), in compliance with federal SEVIS regulations for undergraduate students.
- Represents the College at related conferences, meetings, and other official functions.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements: - Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
- Knowledge of the admission experience in higher education and international recruiting.
- Experience developing and managing a recruitment territory and meeting recruitment goals is preferred.
- Experience working in a setting with fast-paced setting with high expectations, sales targets, and deadlines is strongly preferred.
- Evidence of a global perspective and experiences is required.
- U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident status is required.
- Proven ability to effectively communicate in person and in writing. Comfort and proven experience speaking in front of groups is essential.
- Demonstrated skill using technology and social media for marketing is preferred.
- Demonstrated record of establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with a wide variety of constituents.
- Should be self-motivated; possess high energy, attention to detail, and the ability to organize effectively.
- A valid driver's license and passport are required
- Ability to travel domestically internationally for periods of 14 days or more 3-4 times per year.
- Flexibility of schedule, as occasional evening and weekend hours are expected.
- Familiarity with social media platforms and their use to contribute to an organization's overall message and mission.
- Intermediate level computer skills using a Windows based operating system, specifically MS Word, Excel, Outlook and Internet.
- Fluency in one or more languages other than English is preferred, and experience working with foreign embassies, universities, or non-governmental organizations is also preferred.
- Previous experience as a DSO is preferred.
