Landmark Christian School, K4-12, Independent Christian School located in Fairburn, GA with satellite campus, K4-4, located in Peachtree City, GA Position will start out as a part-time position and will convert to a full-time position beginning July 31, 2019 Hours – 8:00 – 4:30 Year-Round Employee Start Date: Immediate The role of the International Student Program (ISP) Director is to spearhead recruitment, admissions, and orientation of international students and their families to the United States with Christ-like character. Upon acceptance to Landmark, he/she manages the students’ accurate completion of records/documentation to comply with federal, state, and school admission and administrative requirements and ensures Landmark maintains its SEVIS certification status. He/She partners with school departments and facilitates students’ international, student life experience to ensure they have an amazing cultural and educational experience. Additionally, the ISP Director facilitates the oversees the recruitment and training of host families to ensure international students are placed in ideal, loving homes. He/She works directly with the Admissions Office and reports to the Associate Head of School. The essential responsibilities of the ISP Director are: - Oversee the programing, recruiting and relationships of Landmark Christian School’s International Student Program (ISP) overseas and ensure the completion of student and school ISP certification and requirements
- Oversee and facilitate international family recruitment and be the “administrative face” of Landmark Christian School international
- Explore and develop international student recruitment efforts and partnerships
- Visit international families and recruitment agencies, if needed
- Communicate and coordinate program with overseas teams/agencies
- Communicate with state department on international laws
- Maintain and track students’ visa processing and oversee travel requests
- Act as school DSO and maintain SEVIS Certification
- Obtain temporary health insurance contract for international students
- Manage budget and processing of ISP expenses services/support
- Manage and communicate the admissions process for prospective students both with international, prospective families and internally
- Document/communicate admissions requirements and process to prospective families and recruiting agencies
- Oversee admissions process of international students and ensure accuracy and completeness of information in compliance with F-1 visa and SEVIS requirements
- Oversee testing process of international students
- Track enrollment goals and documentation using Landmark internal resources
- Provide program updates of ISP to Landmark administration
- Facilitate overall student life experience to ensure high quality academic and cultural exposure and exchange
- Develop International Student/Family greeting and orientation process
- Establish student communication and Student Handbook protocols
- Develop onboarding/peer support program for international students
- Develop academic and emotional support procedures for international students
- Ensure appropriate communication occurs
- Oversee host family identification, recruitment, training, and ongoing maintenance and management
- Develop recruiting program for Host Families
- Manage host family applications, references, interviews and house visit coordination
- Manage and coordinate host family background checks and live scan clearances with HR
- Develop orientation, training, student experience guidelines for Host Families
- Develop and implement oversight, support, issues identification processes and guidelines for Host Families
- Maintain regular and effective communication with host and biological families and agents regarding arrivals, departures, orientation, monthly meetings, student progress
- Promote cultural awareness of international program within LCS
Qualifications - Experience working with international students and families
- High degree of cultural and social awareness and collaboration skills
- Willingness to do international travel (up to 25% travel may be required)
- Knowledge and experience with international student visa processing and documentation/reporting
- Proficiency in managing department budget and expenses
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Willingness to work off-hours and from home and be accessible to students, host, and natural families when needed
- Proficient in Google Docs, Microsoft Suite, and internet
- Experience living abroad or having traveled internationally, preferred
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent life experience
