REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: • Bachelor's degree plus a minimum of at least four (4) years of professional experience in admissions, recruitment, higher education, or international student services. • Experience developing and executing marketing, student recruitment, and outreach plans. • Demonstrated commitment to and experience working with diverse populations. • Ability to travel internationally and domestically. • Must possess a valid US passport or a current H1B visa and a valid driver's license.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: • Fluency in one or more second languages (Mandarin Chinese preferred). • Four years of professional experience in international admissions and recruitment and/or international student services. • Familiarity with student information systems, particularly PeopleSoft and Salesforce. • Experience traveling internationally for professional purposes.
ABOUT THE JOB: Within the Office of International Programs and Services, the recruiter will serve as the primary contact for prospective international students from specific target markets, help develop and implement a program of outreach to recruit these international students to the University of Minnesota Duluth, assist in the design and implementation of international recruitment strategies, develop outreach materials and web content targeting international students, and engage in recruiting activities abroad. The recruiter will liaise with prospective students, as well as with sponsoring organizations, agencies and educational partners to promote the academic and ESL programs at the University of Minnesota Duluth. The recruiter will work closely with partner institutions in specific target markets abroad to facilitate the transfer of students participating in dual degree programs. The recruiter will be expected to abide by the NACAC Statement of Principles of Good Practice: NACAC's Code of Ethics and Professional Practices. Both international and domestic travel are required. RESPONSIBILITIES: International Student Recruitment (25%) Design, develop, and implement a program of international recruitment. Travel abroad to specific target markets to recruit students through outreach to partner institutions, educational advising agencies, and to engage in an active program of student recruitment. Liaise closely with partner institutions in specific markets abroad to support dual degree programs.
Application Advising (25%) Field and respond promptly to questions from prospective students and others (partner institutions, agents, sponsors, etc.). Work with students to complete application process, conforming to university policies and procedures. Provide counseling regarding admissibility, scholarship, opportunities, and federal immigration compliance.
Marketing (25%) Assist in the development of promotional materials and strategies for improving international enrollment. Collaborate with campus entities to increase yield of international students.
CRM (20%) Monitor applications for completeness and follow up on requests for missing materials. Track and report on student application and enrollment data for use in decision-making and evaluating return on investment and progress towards meeting university strategic goals for international enrollment.
