ABOUT US: Who is CIS Abroad, and why do you want to work with us?
At CIS Abroad, we believe that education abroad offers students the best chance to realize their potential and change their world. We’re a nationally recognized organization that offers transformative study, intern, and short-term programs in 22 countries and customized programs in over 50 countries across the globe. Our shared values--Passion, Fun, Cultural Awareness, Being Helpful, Change & Growth, Teamwork, & Good Ideas--form the foundation for all we do, and we look for employees who embody these values in their personal and professional lives. We are innovative and fast-moving, and have a fantastic home office (complete with friendly office dogs!) located in a historic building smack in the middle of downtown Northampton, MA. We are proud members of The Forum on Education Abroad, NAFSA, Diversity Abroad, and IIE’s Generation Study Abroad initiative.
The Faculty-Led Programs Coordinator is primarily responsible for the following key areas within our Custom Programs division: logistical planning, advising faculty, and both program and inquiry management. Country ownership may vary depending on experience of the coordinator and the current team’s needs. The position reports to the Assistant Director of Custom Programs.

COMPANY & TEAM CULTURE: Who are we looking for?
CIS Abroad, and particularly the Custom Programs (CP) division, moves fast! We are looking for someone who is passionate about international education, not intimidated by change, and who will speak up when they have a good idea (and run with it!) The successful member of the team has a keen eye for detail, LOVES checklists, and enjoys building programs from the ground up. Ideally, you’ve spent some time abroad or have experience coordinating travel for yourself and/or others. Unlike many study abroad advising positions, our team works almost exclusively with faculty and study abroad staff, so you should be ready for little (if any) direct student contact. Lastly, while there’s always support if you need it, the majority of our work is done independently; we are looking for a self-starter with a can-do attitude who will dive right in to new challenges!
Qualified candidates will be contacted for an interview
No phone calls, please
