Associate Director of Study Abroad/International Programs

Position Summary: SUNY Geneseo is dedicated to vigorously promoting global awareness, intercultural understanding and supporting the exchange of people and ideas through study abroad programming, internationalizing the curriculum, and increasing the number of international students and scholars on campus.
We are seeking an Associate Director of Study Abroad/International Programs to fill a key role in the administration of our programs.
The Associate Director oversees program-level finances, risk assessment, risk, office regulatory compliance efforts, and serves as liaison for study abroad student travel regulations. Assists Faculty Fellow with program development, assists Director with policy and procedure development and implementation, and strategic planning. Designs risk assessment and mitigation procedures and faculty training processes for credit-bearing programs that involve off-campus international (study abroad) and domestic (study away) travel.
Required Qualifications Masters degree; Progressively responsible experience working in a study abroad office; Excellent communication and organizational skills; Computer skills, including Microsoft Office and the ability to create complex reports. Creative problem-solving; Intercultural competence as well as a commitment to the campus values of diversity and inclusion; Experience managing overseas crisis response; Experience managing financial details including budgets; Knowledge and understanding of the Forum on Education Abroad Standards of Good Practice; Experience advising study abroad students.
Preferred Qualifications 5-7 years working in a study abroad office;
