The Office of Off-Campus Study (OCS) oversees long-term global opportunities within Grinnell College’s Institute for Global Engagement (IGE). The Assistant Director supports the work of the Director of OCS and is responsible for managing a significant program portfolio, providing advising to students before, during and after their off-campus study experiences during the semester, academic year, and summer. The Assistant Director also develops and leads various promotional, pre-departure and re-entry events, collaborating with partners on and off campus to enhance best practices. In addition, the Assistant Director plays a pivotal role in designing and implementing marketing and outreach strategies, and assists the Director with assessment and administrative responsibilities.
Bachelor’s degree and three years of experience is required.
- Master’s degree, with strong international content in educational subject area. - 3-5 years of work experience in the education abroad field including previous engagement with NAFSA and/or the Forum on Education Abroad. - Previous support of college students in an advisory capacity. - Event management, public speaking, and marketing experience. - Proficiency in a second language and/or experience living, working, and/or studying abroad. - Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with individuals from culturally diverse backgrounds - Knowledge of the liberal arts and Global South.
