Advise students before, during, and after a study abroad experience, including recruitment of students, facilitation of application processing and information gathering, and campus programming events.
Serve as an advisor for study abroad programs, including advising students with program selection, application processing and scholarship assistance for the colleges and majors assigned.
Plan and conduct student presentations across the curriculum for study abroad participation, including Racer Days, Summer O, and classroom presentations.
Liaise with exchange partners and program providers as assigned
Liaise with academic departments and colleges for study abroad support as needed, including work with the Faculty Study Abroad Ambassadors and Student Study Abroad Ambassadors.
Serve as Program Director on study abroad programs as needed.
Coordinate and implement Residential College programming and scholarship workshops.
Assist with maintenance of the study abroad website.
Assist with supervision of student assistants.
Horizons application system implementation, management, design, update, and maintenance for assigned colleges.
Keep current in field standards and maintain active participation in professional organizations.
Other duties as assigned by the Senior Advisor or Director. Specific duties may include:
Manage Canvas student orientation enrollment, maintenance, and student completion
Manage Scholarship process, select student recipients, assign scholarship amounts to students, award scholarships, create scholarships in compliance with Foundation and Scholarship Office regulations
Review applications, accept and reject students for program abroad
Communicate with students while abroad.
Assist with coordination and cooperation of the International Student Organizations for the integration of American and international students.
Assist with crisis management if called upon to do so.
Manage social media for the Education Abroad Office
Create market, and manage all coordination and publicity for the Study Abroad Fair
Design publications for education abroad and teach abroad
Plan content for and deliver student orientation
Minimum Education Requirements:
Bachelor's degree or higher in any major.
Minimum Experience and Skill Requirements:
Requires demonstrated effective communication and public speaking skills, ability to work on several projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks, ability to exercise sound independent judgment and work successfully with students and colleagues in a team.
Requires excellent computer skills (Word, Excel, and Access).
Must possess a willingness and ability to travel nationally and internationally as needed.
Requires participation in a study abroad experience as a college student.
Must possess a U.S. driver’s license.
