Advises for several semester study abroad programs, including programs in the UK, Ireland, and Asia. Advises and supports applications for some faculty-led summer study abroad programs. Study abroad advising involves discussions of academic progress/policies and course approvals, preparing students for culture, health/safety, and academic transitions, as well as supporting students with questions while abroad. Advises study abroad students on internal and external scholarships, and facilitates one scholarship application process. Note that advising regions may change. Takes the lead on organizing general presentation materials and planning for semesterly Pre-Departure Orientations. Maintains and updates webpages for semester advising areas. Plans and executes the Study Abroad Fair each September. Updates general Study Abroad website and may contribute to website overhaul project, when needed. Supports oversight, updates, and changes to Study Abroad database (Terra Dotta). Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in a field related to the program and two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Master's degree in related field preferred. Experience studying, working, or living abroad desired. Demonstrated organizational ability, attention to detail, and talent for multi-tasking. Excellent interpersonal skills. Strong technology skills (experience with Terra Dotta strongly preferred). Second language experience preferred.
